Last day in Paris

Raining still! Messy way to start the day. Plans and tickets call for a trip to Versailles. Sooo hop on the Metro, change lines, hop onto train...and join hundreds of people trying to get in ( in the rain).

We happened to get there as they were opening up,so there was a backlog of tours and visitors. Took a while but we made it in. Of course the castle was magnificent. After a while though, you just start seeing one room after another full of beautiful paintings, sculptures and furniture.

For Anna...

Lunch was at the museum there. Jacky and I shared a WONDERFUL Brie sandwich. Lovely flowing Brie with toasted hazelnuts and nut butter and lettuce on good chewy French bread. For dessert? Our own chocolate eclairs. Yum!

On to the Gardens, which Jacky and I were looking forward to. We took a tram, to save Carolyn's legs and hips (and Lori's feet). Didn't go through too much other buildings, went to the Queen's Hamlet ( google it Mom!). Just let it be known I could live there the rest of my life :) Here's a few pictures. I'm sure you'll agree with me!

Must go to bed. See you in Rome!
